چکیده

Immunohistochemical localization of histidine decarboxylase (HDC) in rat slomach was studied. Formalin fixed, paraffin sections were prepared and imrnunohistochemical localiiation ef HDC was performed by the ayidin-biotin-peroxidase-cornplcx mcthod (ABC method). As a result, HDC was ctearty detected in the basal portion of the oxyntic glands. The shape of many HDC-positive cells were flasklike. No reaction products were seen in chief cells or parietal cells, These findings are in agrccment with the results reperted by many workers. Therefore, ABC method of HDC is thought

Immunocytochemical staining of estrogen receptor in paraffin sections of human breast cancer by use of monoclonal antibody: comparison with that in frozen sections.

Estrogen receptor (ER) in human breast cancer tissues was demonstrated in paraffin sections as well as in frozen sections by immunoperoxidase methods using monoclonal antibody (H222) against ER. The avidin-biotin-peroxidase complex method was used for the paraffin sections fixed in cold buffered formalin, and the peroxidase-antiperoxidase method was used for the fixed frozen sections. The resul...

En bloc immunohistochemistry reveals extensive distribution of histidine decarboxylase-immunoreactive neurons on the ventral surface of the rat hypothalamus.

En bloc immunohistochemistry was used to examine the distribution of L-histidine decarboxylase (HDC)-immunoreactive neurons on the ventral surface of the rat hypothalamus. Following standard paraformaldehyde fixation, the ventral hypothalamus containing the tuber cinereum was carefully dissected free and incubated en bloc with antisera to HDC followed by standard avidin-biotin complex immunohis...

Application of immunoperoxidase techniques to formalin-fixed brain tissue for the diagnosis of rabies in southern Africa.

Two immunoperoxidase techniques, viz. avidin-biotin complex (ABC) and peroxidase-anti-peroxidase (PAP) procedures, were applied to paraffin-wax-embedded brain-tissue sections, from brains which had been fixed in 10% formalin, to demonstrate the presence of rabies-virus antigen by light microscopy. These techniques positively identified both "viverrid" and "canid" rabies-virus antigen in tissues...

Development of a highly sensitive immunohistochemical method to detect neurochemical molecules in formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded tissues from autopsied human brains

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a valuable method for identifying discrete neurochemical molecules by the interaction of target antigens with validated antibodies tagged with a visible label (e.g., peroxidase). We have developed an immunostaining method that is highly sensitive in detection of neurochemical antigens. Our IHC method, which we call the PBTA method, involves a hybrid protocol that i...

Distribution of lectin receptors in the human hyperplastic tonsil: histochemical and flow cytometric analyses.

The distribution of lectin receptors in the human tonsil was studied using 16 biotinylated lectins. The avidin-biotin-peroxidase complex (ABC) method was used on frozen and paraffin-embedded tissue sections. Cell suspensions were also analysed by dual flow cytometry using respective fluorescein isothiocyanate-conjugated lectins and phycoerythrin-labeled anti-CD3 and anti-human immunoglobulin. F...
